Lamar Geospatial Center

The Geospatial Center at Lamar University is providing geospatial facilities and services to the university, government agencies, non-profit organizations and private industry. Lamar Geospatial Center promotes and supports inter/multi/trans-disciplinary creative and scholarly activities through the development and application of geospatial technologies. LGC conducts basic and applied research related to geographic information science, geographic visualization, spatial thinking, geographic education and remote sensing. Applications of our research are primarily applied to the domains of disaster management, coastal restoration, mineral resources, watershed analysis, water quality and natural resources management.

The GIS certificate programs are approved and can be promoted for a Summer start. Please see the Department Chair, Dr. Joseph Kruger, for details.
