The Big Event is the biggest student-run, one-day service project in the nation! Created in 1982 at Texas A&M University, The Big Event is an incredible way for LU students, faculty, staff, and alumni to come together for one day to say "Thank You!" to Southeast Texas through community service.
LU Alumni are invited to join Lamar University students, faculty and staff for this community service event on Saturday, March 23, 2024. Register to participate at www.viableenergynow.com/bigevent by Sunday, March 8, 2024.
Registration begins at 7:00am in the Neches Federal Credit Union Arena at the Montagne Center Parking lot, kick off rally will begin at 7:30am, and everyone will be dismissed to their assigned job sites around 8:00am. All of the projects should conclude no later than 12:30pm.
